Tijdens ons verblijf in Normandië in 2004 was ik met name blij dat ik Kenneth Moore ontmoette. Het jaar ervoor maakten we kennis met Robert Wright, de tweede "medic" die heldendaden verrichtte in Angoville au Plain.
Dit jaar was een speciaal jaar. Net als het vorig jaar met Bob Wright (die om gezondheidesredenen niet aanwezig was), was Kenneth Moore door Huub Achten en zijn groep uitgenodigd. We zijn Kenneth dan ook vaak tegengekomen. Heel speciaal was (ook weer voor mij) zijn aanwezigheid tijdens de dropping op de dropzone bij Angoville au Plain. Samen met "Luz" vormden we het medisch team op de dropzone.
Op het afsluitend diner met de bewoners van Angoville au Plain in een prachtige boerenschuur, hebben we opnieuw met Kenneth uitgebreid kunnen praten over zijn ervaringen van 60 jaar eerder. Voor Huub Achten, één van de jumpers en de grote drijvende kracht in de organisatie, was het zeer emotioneel om door Kenneth diens jumpwings opgespeld te krijgen. Huub : je verdient het!

I especially (as a doctor in normal life) was glad to meet Kenneth Moore this year. The year before I met his partner at Angoville au Plain - Bob Wright. Both medics got a silver star for what they did at the church in Angoville in the first days after the invasion.
Just like the year before when Bob Wright was there, Kenneth was invited by the group of Hubert Achten. Unfortunately Bob Wright couldn't we with us because of health reasons. We met Ken quit a few times. At the dropzone at Angoville au Plain we formed the medical team together with "Luz" , a re-enactor from Shady's group. I don't know if Luz has a medical background by the way...The last day we had dinner with the population of Angoville au Plain at a large shed in the village. At this occasion Ken pinned his jumpwings on the uniform of Hubert Achten. For Hubert this was a very emotional moment, but if anyone deserves it, it's Huub!
